Docs - Top up

Top up your wallet

Pay-as-you-go credit you spend on every LLM call. Three top-up sizes, one auto-refill option.

1. What's in your wallet

New accounts get a $1 welcome credit on signup. It has no expiry date - it lasts until you spend it (or until your first real top-up replaces it).

Top-ups credit your wallet at the amount you pay minus Stripe's processing fee. The table below shows the fee for each tier.

Beyond the welcome credit, your wallet only holds money you've topped up. Every LLM call debits the wallet at LLM cost + 9% (same rate for users and builders).

2. The three top-up tiers

Stripe charges a fixed 30c per transaction plus 2.9%. We pass this fee through transparently - the bigger your top-up, the smaller the fee as a percentage of what lands in your wallet.

You payStripe feeWallet creditedEffective fee %
$9$0.57$8.436.3%
$27$1.09$25.914.0%
$54$1.87$52.133.5%

Start with $9 if you just want to try things. Most users settle on $27. $54 has the best per-dollar fee but commits more cash up front. International or Amex cards may cost slightly more than estimate.

3. Auto top-up

Optional. When your balance drops below a threshold (default $3), we charge your saved card for a refill (default $27). You stay topped up without thinking about it.

If your card is declined, auto top-up pauses and we email you. Re-enable on /billing once you've updated the card.

Off by default. Enable it from /billing when you're ready.

4. Credits never expire

Nothing in your wallet expires. The $1 welcome credit lasts until you spend it, and every dollar you top up stays in your wallet until you spend it.

5. Pending verifications

Stripe occasionally needs a few minutes to confirm a payment. While that's happening you'll see a pending row on /billing. If the confirmation email doesn't arrive, use the Resend email button.

6. Where to do it

Open /billing from the top nav. The top section is your wallet, with the three top-up buttons and the auto top-up control.
